Strange Beast is a contemporary cocktail izakaya brought to you by Good Lion Hospitality, and is situated in the historic Bank of Italy building in Downtown Ventura, CA.

Our cocktail menu celebrates Japanese flavors, and our cocktails, sake, beer, and wine are best paired with our Japanese tapas prepared by the Michelin Bib Gourmand chefs of Sama Sama Restaurant Group.

We are open 7 days a week with a late night happy hour starting at 9 pm, Handrolls & Highballs on Tuesdays, karaoke on Wednesdays, Dim Sum on Thursdays, and rotating ramen every Sunday.
